    Tiburon Headlights

Ok, so I got this sweet 03 Tiburon GT right?! I couldnt stand the rear lights, so I ordered some Altezza's and am so glad that I did. They are sooo awesome. Anyway, I cant stand the headlights either. Actually, the only thing I hate about the headlights is the amber. I want the amber gone. So I started worken on it. Ordered some eyelids to try and hide the amber, but they were ugly as sin. The headlights are stylish, they have a great look to them and all the eyelids did was hide the shape and change the look too much without getting rid of the amber. So I decided to try and get some clear headlight covers so I could do a custom tint on them to minimize the amber. Yeah, good luck. Seems like they dont make clear headlight covers for the 03 GT. So I kept searching and I saw on Youtube this guy pulled his headlights out and did the mod in the oven at his house to rid the amber, but seriously it took way to much time and was stupid risky. Too long and he'd have cooked em so he'd have to replace em. Too high a temp, same thing. Too low a temp and he'd have cracked the lense tryen to pry em apart, again resulting in the cost of replacement. Just not worth the risk. Not gonna lie, it did look good when he was done, but not worth the risk. So my question is, does anyone have any suggestions? Any ideas, any leads, any tips, anything on this matter please?

    Re: Tiburon Headlights

Hey, thanks for that. So I went onto that site, but I see nothing to indicate that the replacement light comes to me clear without an amber lense. Its not the intensity, nor is it the colour of the light that is my concern. It is that God awful amber lense (which accoding to that youtube video is just a slip on piece that pulls out easily once you get the whole light disassembled).

The link below shows a Tiburon after the HID is installed. At the very end of the clip, you will notice a close up side view shot of the headlight where you can clearly see the amber portion of the headlight is still there.

Yeah, I probably don't have too many options. Do you know if the 2005 headlight fit the 2003 Tiburon without having to do any mods?

    Re: Tiburon Headlights

I have a 2004 Tiburon GT which has the headlights with that stupid yellow corner part and they have the bubble for the main headlights. I think the 2005 headlight assemblys will fit the 2003 and they did away with the bubble portion too! I bought one of those headlight resurface kits at autozone to remove some of the cloudy parts that are already taking place on my headlights, but just as I expected they did nothing but leave my headlights all scratched up! So I have been trying to find some aftermarket headlight assemblys with a clear corner and leds for the turn signals but am having a hell of a time finding any! I'm soo mad! They have things like that for a ford focus but not a tiburon? I mean com'on?!

    Re: Tiburon Headlights

Whoa, hey. Slow down bro. Before you go getting new headlights, try Meguiars. They have a 3 stage car paint scratch removal system, saved the headlights on my 2000 R6. Seiously. I know its meant for paint, but it honest to God works on lenses. And, you dont need any tools or buffer devices, you can totally do it by hand. If you take your time with it and do each stage carefully and properly, you will end up with lenses so smooth they look like mirrors.

As for the bubbles on the 03 headlights, I like em. I like em alot. I think they are stylish and unique - to each their own I suppose. I just hate that damn amber so much.
